Lindsey McMurray

Managing Partner

Lindsey founded Pollen Street Capital in 2013 after leading the spin out from RBS. She is Chairman of the investment committee and also serves as a non-executive director on the boards of several portfolio companies including Shawbrook Bank. 

She has been a private equity investor for more than 15 years with a particular focus on the Financial Services sector. Before she founded Pollen Street Capital, Lindsey led the team managing the £1.1bn Special Opportunities Fund within RBS and also spent six years as a Partner at Cabot Square Capital, focusing on operating investments in real estate and other asset backed investments, together with investments in the financial services sector. 

She has a First Class Honours degree in Accounting and Finance and studied for an MPhil in Finance from Strathclyde University.

Outside of work Lindsey is a keen runner having successfully completed the Marathon Des Sables in 2007 and 2011. She also supports a number of charities with a particular focus on mentoring children in state schools and a number of projects in Africa.

James Scott


James has been a private equity investor since 2004 and has experience originating and managing investments across a range of sectors. Over the last five years James has focused on investing in credit opportunities and financial services businesses. 

Prior to joining the team, James qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PwC, worked for E&Y in an IT consulting role and, previously worked as a commercial director for a software engineering firm.  James has a degree in History and Politics from Exeter University and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.

Key recent transactions include Krunch, Spring, Shawbrook Bank and Target Group. James is currently a non-executive of Target Group and is a member of the Group Pricing and Risk Committee for Shawbrook Bank.

Michael England


Michael has eight years of experience of private equity investing.  As well as financial services, he has been active across a number of sectors including aerospace and infrastructure.

Prior to joining the team, Michael spent three years at OC&C Strategy Consultants, focusing on strategy and private equity projects across a range of industries . He has a First Class degree in Chemistry from Oxford University and went on to complete a masters’ degree in carbohydrate chemistry. 

Key recent transactions include Link Loans, Moneycorp and Cashflows.  Michael is a non-executive director on the board of Cashflows.

Ian Gascoigne


Ian has seven years of experience in private equity investing with Pollen Street Capital and RBS Equity Finance. He is an economist by background who has extensive experience of financial services and credit investing, and prior to joining the team worked at OC&C Strategy Consultants. Ian has a First Class Honours degree in Economics from London School of Economics and an Mphil in Economics with distinction from Cambridge University.

He is currently a non-executive of Erno Laszlo and Cashflows, and formerly sat on the board of Arrow Global Group plc. He has previously managed investments in insurance run-off specialist Catalina Re (exited in 2013) and Condor Ferries (exited in 2009).

Matthew Potter


Matthew has spent the last five years focused on originating and executing deals in the financial services and healthcare sectors. Prior to joining the team, Matthew qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PwC and spent four years in their Corporate Finance Department focusing on mid-market transactions. He has a First Class Honours degree in Economics and Finance from Bristol University.

Key recent transactions include establishing Shawbrook Bank, acquiring Singers Asset Finance, acquiring Centric Commercial Finance, restructuring and disposing of the Priory Group and divesting interests in Wireless Infrastructure Group and Prime Life. Matthew is a non-executive director of Banca Sistema and a member of the Asset and Liability, Group Pricing and Credit and Audit Risk Committees of Shawbrook Bank.

Outside of work Matthew plays golf and is a keen runner having completed the Berlin and London marathons.

Howard Garland

Howard Garland


Howard has been a private equity investor for over 20 years, with a strong focus on financial services. He was a Partner with the team during it’s time at RBS Asset Management, when it raised the £1.1bn Special Opportunities Fund in 2007, and was a member of the Investment Committee until 2012. 

Prior to re-joining the Pollen Street team in 2016, Howard assisted the Swedish credit institution Hoist Finance to enter the UK debt collecting and debt purchasing sector, supporting the acquisition of a number of UK companies and debt portfolios.

Howard has a degree in 1st class degree in Mathematics from University College London.

Abror Ismailov


Abror is responsible for asset allocation and investment selection at PSC Eaglewood.

Prior to joining the firm, Abror worked as a Director within Lazard’s Structured Credit Advisory group, was a Senior Portfolio Manager for Union Investment in Frankfurt, a Portfolio Manager at Cambridge Place Investment Management and held various positions within the Global Portfolio Management Group at Deutsche Bank. In these roles, Abror has been responsible for managing over €3.5 billion of funds invested in structured credit, real estate and private equity investments.

Abror has over 15 years of experience investing in credit. Abror holds Master’s degrees in Business and Finance from the University of Hamburg, the University of Nantes, and the University of Valencia and is also a CFA charterholder.

Magnus Christensson

Magnus Christensson


Magnus has 19 years of fundraising and IR experience (and has raised over USD 4 billion in his career). Prior to joining Pollen Street Capital, Magnus was previously at TPG’s Fundraising group, where he was part of the global team responsible for Europe. Prior to joining TPG in 2011, Magnus served as Managing Director and Head of Europe for Jefferies Fund Placement Group. Between 2002 and 2010 he was a Partner and member of the management committee at Atlantic-Pacific Capital Inc. and in 2000, was a Principal at NM Rothschild's private equity business in London. He also has work experience as a strategy consultant from Indevo and Bain & Co.

He received his BSc in Economics from the University of Uppsala, Sweden in 1989.  He is also a Reserve Lieutenant in the Royal Swedish Navy. He is native in Swedish and fluent in English and German and is a member of the YPO Gold London Chapter.

William Cumming


Prior to re-joining the Pollen Street team in 2017, William began his career with the Pollen Street team at RBS in 2007 when it managed the £1.1bn Special Opportunities Fund, and was responsible for evaluating and executing private equity and opportunistic credit investments.

William also spent 17 years with Citigroup, managing the European special situations and structured finance businesses investing in both debt and equity.

William received his degree in economics from Babson College, graduating with academic honours, before attending Columbia University’s Real Estate Development and Finance program.

Chris Palmer 8307 2

Christopher Palmer

General Counsel

Chris joined Pollen Street Capital in early 2015 as General Counsel. He had previously spent 7 years in private practice at Linklaters LLP with a primary focus on capital markets, securitisation and structured finance transactions. During his time at Linklaters, Chris undertook secondments to Citigroup Global Markets and The Royal Bank of Scotland where he worked on a number of derivatives and debt capital markets transactions and advised on access to central bank liquidity schemes.

Prior to joining Pollen Street Capital, Chris spent a further three years at RBS where he advised on a range of legal matters relevant to corporate and commercial banking and was heavily involved in a number of financial services regulation and balance sheet management workstreams. Aside from legal matters, Chris also led on a number of RBS Legal corporate and social responsibility initiatives.

Chris has a law degree from Cambridge University and completed his LPC at Nottingham Law School.

David Dawson

David Dawson

Investment Director

David has six years of experience in the private equity industry, working on investments in a wide range of industry sectors. Prior to joining the team at Pollen Street Capital in 2014, David qualified as a Chartered Accountant in KPMG’s Transaction Services team before joining Apax Partners in London, and then MVC Capital in Chicago.

David holds a BA in Economics from the University of Nottingham, and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Anastasia Kovaleva

Senior Associate

Anastasia has seven years of experience in consulting and investment banking. As well as financial services, she has been active across a number of sectors including technology, business services, and consumer.

Prior to joining the team at Pollen Street Capital in 2016, Anastasia spent two years at Bain & Company focusing on strategy and private equity projects across a range of industries. Prior to that, she qualified as a Chartered Financial Analyst and as a Chartered Accountant with PwC and spent four years in their Corporate Finance Department focusing on mid-market transactions.

Anastasia holds a BA in Business from Simon Fraser University in Canada, and an MBA with Honours from IMD in Switzerland.

Indraveer Srivastava

Investment Director

Indraveer has 8 year experience in credit investing, investment banking and insurance. He joined PSC Eaglewood in 2014 and has been involved in executing the Real Estate strategy as well as a broader focus on the execution of investments across asset classes and geographies. Prior to joining Eaglewood, Indraveer was part of the Financial Institutions Group at Lazard where he gained experience across M&A, Structured Credit, Debt Advisory and Restructuring. Prior to which he worked at Aegon Religare Life Insurance in India.

Indraveer holds a Master’s degree in Finance from the London School of Economics, a BA (Hons) in Economics from Delhi University and is a CFA Charterholder.

Nancy Lynch

Nancy joined PSC Eaglewood in July 2014 as General Counsel. She had previously spent 16 years in private practice at Weil Gotshal & Manges LLP with a primary focus on structured finance, derivatives and financial services transactions.

Nancy received her J.D. from Pace University School of Law and received her B.A. from Smith College.

Michael K

Michael Katramados

Head of Structured Lending

Michael is responsible for origination and execution of wholesale finance facilities in the speciality finance space. He joined PSC in 2017 and has over 10 years’ experience in credit investing and structured lending.

Prior to joining PSC, Michael was a director and founding member of the Shawbrook wholesale lending team where he helped build a successful franchise in the speciality finance lending space over the past four years. Prior to this he spent three years in the RBS Structured Finance team, where he led transactions and headed up modelling and analytics. Prior to this he held quantitative credit roles at Eiger Capital and Agathe Capital.

Michael holds a Master’s degrees in Economics and Finance from the Warwick Business School, a BSc (1st class) in Economics and Econometrics from Southampton University and is a CFA Charterholder.

Ethan Gong

Ethan joined Pollen Street Capital in 2017, and has, over the last several years, created and executed multi-billion worth of loan purchase programs across various credit asset classes.

He has developed boosting and neural-network based credit, fraud and conversion models for a number of lenders, spanning auto finance companies, consumer installment lenders, mortgage originators, and small business lenders.  In addition, he has created an automated credit score improvement algorithm for consumers.

Ethan has also developed synthetic macroeconomic risk factors, both economic data and market data-based, which complement micro loan-level credit models and pinpoint portfolio VaR to various recession scenarios.

After joining PSC, Ethan continues to specialize in bespoke credit investments in the real estate, consumer and small business sectors, with mutual value creation for PSC and its origination & lending partners, and continues to explore new loan product launch opportunities for PSC’s lending partners.

Tamsin Jordan

Investor Relations

Tamsin joined PSC Eaglewood from Marshall Wace Asset Management in July 2015 in order to build out the client services capabilities and support the marketing team. Tamsin had worked alongside the PSC Eaglewood team when a part of the Marshall Wace group of affiliated investment managers, as well as supporting two key equity portfolio managers there. Tamsin manages the day to day Investor Relations, including product launches, fundraising, due diligence, onboarding new clients, reporting and updating.

Prior to joining Marshall Wace, Tamsin had worked as an assistant at Capital Group and at Tarchon Capital Management. Tamsin holds a BA in International Relations from the University of Sussex where she specialised in international political economic. 

Tom Oneill 2

Tom O'Neill

Legal Counsel

Tom joined Pollen Street Capital in December 2016. Prior to this, Tom spent over six years as a corporate lawyer at Slaughter and May, working on a number of public and private M&A and equity capital markets transactions, joint ventures and restructurings across a broad range of industries. Tom spent six months working in Slaughter and May’s Hong Kong office in 2011/12 and four months on secondment to Apollo Global Management’s London office in 2013.

Tom has a degree in land economy from the University of Cambridge and, prior to becoming a lawyer, spent five years as an officer in the British Army.

Shelby Drescher

Shelby joined PSC Eaglewood in March 2015 and has nearly 20 years in the investment industry and 10 years’ experience managing and overseeing compliance programs for financial services firms.

Shelby is responsible for ensuring that the firm’s activities satisfy all regulatory requirements in the US and, as part of a global team, works on behalf of the firm’s affiliated investment advisers in London to fulfil their respective US requirements.

Prior to joining PSC Eaglewood in March 2015, Shelby spent 7 years at Loeb King Capital Management / Loeb Partners Corporation where she oversaw the administration of compliance programs for the firm’s registered investment adviser, hedge fund, broker-dealer and mutual fund businesses.

Shelby holds a BA in Political Science from New York University.

Julian Asquith

Head of Finance and Risk

Julian has more than 15 years of accounting and administration experience in the private equity industry. He has previously worked for several private equity houses including CVC Capital Partners and Lloyds Development Capital.

Julian holds a Degree in Economics from the University of Nottingham, an MBA from Leicester University and he is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Raga Gopalan

Raga is an Investment Analyst at PSC Eaglewood focused on sourcing and executing credit transactions. During his 4 years at Eaglewood, Raga has worked extensively on forward flow purchase programs and wholesale facilities with alternative lending platforms in the US and has contributed to building its risk framework. Prior to joining PSC Eaglewood, Raga was a Quantitative Research Analyst intern at ROW Asset Management, a global macro investment fund where he developed hedging strategies and built tools for risk analytics.

Raga holds a Masters in Financial Engineering from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Karnataka, India.

Operations Analyst

Prior to joining PSC Eaglewood in 2015, Elaine spent 8 years in the operations group at D. E. Shaw & Co (now Arcesium), primarily supporting the asset-backed securities strategy.

Elaine graduated with a B.Sc in Finance from the Stern School of Business at New York University.

Gavin joined Eaglewood in 2015 as the Head of Technology, and is responsible for the development of the manager’s technology platforms and IT infrastructure.

Prior to joining, he spent nine years as a technology leader at Marshall Wace Asset Management, focussing on the development of bespoke research, trading and operational systems.

Gavin holds a BEng in Micro Electronic Engineering from Brunel University.

Compliance & Operations Officer

Nicola is Compliance & Operations manager with over five years of experience in private equity administration including three years spent at Bridgepoint Advisers. Prior to joining PSC, Nicola also spent three years in an operations management role in a commercial debt recovery firm.

Nicola is also currently working towards obtaining the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment’s Investment Operations certificate

Paul Dittmann

Investment Partner

Paul joined Pollen Street in 2018 to head up the Real Estate efforts for the group. Paul joined from M&G Investments where he created the senior commercial mortgage finance group.   Since transferring to London in 1996, Paul has been active in the European commercial mortgage market.   In the mid-90s Paul spent six years at Citi/Salomon Brothers establishing their European Real Estate Securitisation group before moving to Goldman Sachs where he co-founded the European Commercial Property Finance Department.  Paul also worked at Barclays Capital where he focused on building Barclays Capital’s continental European lending platform.  

Paul received his M.B.A. in Finance and Investments and a Master of Science specialising in Commercial Real Estate Finance and Development from the University of Wisconsin.

Jye Harris

Operations Analyst

Jye joined the Operations team at PSC in 2016 particularly focusing on securitized products, real estate investments, debt facilities and P2P Platforms. He’s also responsible for cash management & forecasting for one of the firms listed vehicles.

Jye joined the firm originally as part of the Marshall Wace Graduate Scheme after completing the JP Morgan Private Bank Summer Analyst programme.

Jye graduated from University College London with a BSc (Hons) degree in Economics and is a candidate in the CFA Program, currently studying for the Level I exam.

Outside of work Jye volunteers and fundraises for a number of charities & organisations spanning from homelessness & mental health charities in the UK to working with impoverished children in India.

Peter has been investing in public and private markets since 2007, with an emphasis on financial services businesses.

Prior to rejoining the Pollen Street team in 2017, Peter was an investment professional at Moore Capital Management, a private investment firm focused on global financial markets. Peter began his career in investing with the Pollen Street team when it managed the £1.1bn Special Opportunities Fund, and was responsible for evaluating and executing private equity and opportunistic credit investments. Key transactions included Krunch, Spring and Target Group.

Peter received a BA from Cornell University, magna cum laude, and an MBA from Columbia Business School, where he completed the Value Investing Program.
